I’m currently printing a series of scarves and wraps with the social butterfly theme. Each scarf has its own little story, with its own little butterfly adventure, in its own little butterfly kingdom..(or maybe queendom!!!) I make up the stories as I’m placing and screen-printing the images. The colours depend on the story.
Still on the printing table. Cotton crepe dip-dyed (ombre dyed) scarf. Screen-printed with water based ecological inks.
Each scarf has it’s own little story ….lots of little butterfly adventures. I actually make up the story in my head as I’m placing and screen-printing the images. Here are some air drying outside the studio.

Have at last finished the butterfly screen. I just want to say that I don’t use the photographic emulsion method to make silk screen stencils, as I haven’t found an absolutely safe, ecological method that I am prepared to use here on Milos. I don’t want to throw any kind of toxic chemical waste into a tank that will for sure leak into the sea. All my designs are hand painted onto mesh using Lascaux products. It may take a while longer but hey….I live in a beautiful place – AND – I sleep soundly at night. I hope there are people out there who understand my position. Thank you if you do!

I love this beautiful marbled violet leather and managed to find perfect coloured zip.. The zip-pulls will be lovely too…I hope!!…but more on those later.

We had thunderstorms all night..so the prints that I left out to dry overnight are wet.
I should add though….it usually doesn’t rain at this time of the year, and it has been pouring all day!!

I’m tired ‘cos I’ve been making waves all day!! :-0 I tweaked and finally redesigned the second (colour) printing map for the “Flying Fish” print. The previous design just wasn’t quite right so I spent a day reworking it.
